Evaluating Plays in Texas Holdem!
Before joining any online Texas Holdem room, the first thing you need to do is
evaluate the size of the game, and the experience level of other players.
If you’re a novice player who has just started playing the community card game on the internet, choose a mid-sized room with beginners or newer players where the stakes are not too high. This can be quite useful for practice and refining your Holdem skills. If you’re playing for big money, make sure you’re joining a room where losing the game will not cause you any financial woes.
Observing and Evaluating Opponents:
Observe the playing style of your opponents, whether it’s "tight or loose", "passive or aggressive", “loose-Aggressive or tight-passive” etc and pay special attention to players who frequently check-raise, slow play, bluff or semi-bluff.
The way you evaluate and counter these moves will determine your own playing strategy and chances of winning. Texas Holdem can sometimes be all about taking advantages of your opponent’s mistakes and weaknesses.
Even when you are not involved in a hand, you should always pay attention to the game and observe what hands your opponents are playing. You can gain valuable information about your opponents’ style of play this way. For example, in low limit Holdem, most players will play any two suited cards or single ace from any position. You can know if you are up against a flush if a player plays any two suited and three suited cards appear on the table.
Evaluating the Structure of texas holdem

Evaluating how the game is structured, such as the ante, the betting limits, and the rules of betting can also be very helpful in determining your chances of winning the pot. For example, in a very high ante game, you may be in a more favorable position than experienced players if you play loose and aggressive, like most beginners do.
Evaluating Table Positions in texas holdem
poker:
The best position is occupied by the dealer who also has the most information about the other players in the game. So, the earlier the position you are in, the greater your disadvantage. If this is your situation, then play hands where you would be prepared to call multiple raises. You have to make an assumption that with the rest of the players on the table left to act, you might be raised more than one time. If, on the other hand, you’re in a later position, you can first evaluate what the majority of your opponents have chosen to do, thereby giving you more effective options when deciding whether to bet on your hand.
Evaluating Starting Hands in online poker:
Winning the pot in Texas Holdem greatly depends on how strong the starting hand is – whether it’s Premium, Good, Marginal or Trash. Careful evaluation of these starting hands is one of the most imporant skills for a Texas Holdem player because playing them in relation to your table position will determine the amount of pots you win. So, the best chances of winning the pot is with strong starting hands such as Premium or Good, combined with a favorable table position.
