Playable Starting
Hands:
A pair of Aces is the best possible starting hand in Texas
Holdem. The worst is a 2-7 unsuited. Out of
the 80 or so playable starting hands, a
player’s position to the dealer button
will decide which one of these hands will be
played.
According to experts, starting hands
comprised of cards of the same suit, due to
their flush potential, are more powerful
than unsuited cards. Strong starting hands
such as big pairs also have a better chance
of holding up than smaller cards to make the
winning hand.
Here are the playable starting hands (note: x stands for
unknown):
·
Any
Pair
·
Ax,
Kx, Qx, Jx, and Tx Suited
·
Ax,
Kx, Qx, Jx, Tx Unsuited
·

All the starting hands in these combinations have about 10%
chance of winning at a ten-person Holdem
table.
